Medical Section Services
For clients of any gender and gender nonconforming clients
Overview
The Medical Section offers in-person routine STI (sexually transmitted infection) screening for folx of any gender and/or gender nonconforming folx. These appointments will consist of:
STI/HIV Testing: The STI Panel includes tests for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, and HIV, which will be collected through urine tests and a blood sample. Oral and rectal swabs can also be conducted if requested. We offer physical exams to all symptomatic clients.
Sexual Education Counseling: To discuss risk factors and methods of reducing risk of contracting STIs.
Treatment: If your lab results indicate a necessity for treatment, medication will be provided.
What to Expect
Clients coming in for a routine asymptomatic STI screening appointment can expect their visit to last approximately 1 hour.
Our clinic is entirely staffed by volunteers. We make every effort to see clients as efficiently as possible in order of arrival; however, clients with positive test results or other urgent medical concerns may be prioritized for care.
To help secure an appointment time, we encourage you to complete our Appointment Interest Form in advance. While we do not typically turn clients away, individuals planning to attend as walk-ins are encouraged to arrive earlier in the evening to improve the likelihood of being seen.
Most clients are seen within approximately 1 hour of arrival.
How to Access
Please use our services request form to schedule an appointment. Appointments or walk-ins are typically available Fridays at 7:00pm and 8:30pm.
