The Certified Enrollment Counselors (CECs) at the Berkeley Free Clinic help clients navigate the process of enrolling in health insurance and food benefits.

Specifically, CECs help clients enroll in Medi-Cal, subsidized Covered California Health plans, and CalFresh (food stamps). They also engage in clinic in-reach and community outreach to inform people about important provisions under the ACA, such as Medi-Cal expansion, enrollment periods, the impacts of public charge legislation on immigration status.

Our Applications are now open!

All-Clinic Orientation

If you are interested in getting more info about volunteering, please attend an All-Clinic Orientation (ACO)! that takes place the third Monday of every month at 7:30PM. We will be there to answer any questions you have about the funding section and talk about your interests. Please note, it is requirement for all prospective volunteers (except GMHC administrative volunteers) to attend an ACO.
